Fire-Resistant Glass, Class (E)

Fire-resistant glass with fire-resistance rating E (integrity) — a special monolithic glass that retains its integrity when exposed to open flame and high temperatures for a specified time (E15, E30, E45, E60 and higher) and is intended for use in fire-rated enclosing structures.

APPLICATION

Used as glazing infill for:
— fire-rated windows, curtain walls and transparent wall sections in public and administrative buildings, where integrity must be maintained without an insulating function;
— glazing of fire-rated door and partition systems made of steel, aluminium and timber profiles;
— screens and glazed panels in corridors, lobbies, atriums, lift lobbies, stairwells and other escape routes;
— glazing sections where the project requires fire resistance to criterion E, but with no requirement to limit heat transfer (I) or radiation (W).

Available configurations:
— various fire-resistance ratings to criterion E (typically from E30 to E60 and higher, depending on the system and glass thickness);
— glass thicknesses selected for the specific profile system and wind/service load requirements;
— rectangular and shaped glazing (subject to agreement with the profile system and geometric tolerances);
— the option to combine with solar-control, energy-saving or decorative coatings within an IGU while retaining the fire-resistance rating of the assembly.

— educational, medical and administrative facilities;
— production and warehouse buildings with designated safe zones and escape routes;
— residential complexes with public areas and underground car parks where the design specifies transparent fire barriers.
