Alpha Sound Rw
Purpose. A noise-reducing architectural insulating glass unit from UNIALGLASS for buildings with demanding acoustic and aesthetic requirements — housing and offices near motorways, airports and noisy industrial facilities. A composite built on low-iron glass gives true colour rendering without a greenish tint, so the facade and interior look clean while achieving high sound insulation.
Construction and properties. The airborne sound-insulation index Rw is increased through panes of differing thickness (shifting resonance frequencies), larger cavities and acoustic laminated glass built on low-iron glass. Indicative values: single-chamber unit — 28–31 dB; double-chamber unit with differing pane thicknesses — 32–36 dB; with acoustic laminated glass — 40–45 dB and above. Low-iron glass and the composite construction deliver quiet without sacrificing clarity or colour.
Governing standards. Insulating glass units — GOST 24866-2014; sound-insulation test method — GOST 26602.3-2016; requirements for glazing of residential buildings — GOST R 56926-2016; laminated glass — GOST 30826-2014 (complies with Russian national standards, mandatory for the Russian market).
Points to note. Rw is a property of the specific unit formula, not of the glass grade alone; differing pane thicknesses and acoustic laminated glass significantly increase Rw. A guaranteed value requires a test report for that specific formula under GOST 26602.3. For visually refined transparent structures, low-iron glass is essential — ensuring true colour rendering in curtain walls and facades.
